hedgehog love

A year or two ago, I was on a hunt for hedgehog things... I love these little guys. The Purl Bee has just posted a pattern to knit some and it's making me want to take up the needles again. I like the way the body is knitted in garter stitch and their little faces are cute. Here's the pattern: click here.

Here's another cute one (without ears but with feet) that was posted on Ravelry and the pattern is by Little Cotton Rabbits (another favorite pattern maker!): click here.

Everyone probably remembers Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle from Beatrix Potter. I sometimes think of her while I'm ironing, just because of this illustration!

It is unfortunate that these little creatures do not live here in the United States... I would love to have one take up residence in my garden!

Hi Beth
I saw those hedgehogs on Purl Bee and thought they were so cute! Hedgehogs are really sweet = but often road kill here in the UK! I think I might knit one of the little hedgehogs when I finish my goldfish mittens!
