This guy showed up yesterday at our house and keeps making appearances in different rooms. Nathaniel was bored and asked for some old boxes... and our alien robot showed up! So, he starts off the cuteness on the blog. I've just been burying my nose in
Mastering the Art of French Cooking by Julia Child which I picked up at the library. It's fun to read instructions written in a completely different time period (and one I adore). I remember watching Julia on tv with my Mom and marveling at how this woman could do what she did. I would have loved to meet her in person.
The kids are off of school tomorrow (again) and so our weekend starts earlier. I'm making them help clean the house tomorrow (they don't know that yet) but tonight we're having a great dinner (thanks to Julia Child) and maybe watching a (free) movie I picked up while I was at the library too! ;)

We have the day off too! The boys will be cleaning and raking with swim practice and an ortho apt thrown in there. One of them might have a real date (help!) and I am sure the other one will want to play XBox.
I just might make them listen to patriotic songs all day to show our gratitude to the veterans.
The box boy is very cute! Hope the kids enjoy their day off - or at least you enjoy having some help with the cleaning. I am looking forward to the weekend - dinner with friends tomorrow night, National Trust on Saturday and then run and house stuff on Sunday.

After eating many a horribly cooked pork chop prepared by my step mother, Julia helped me to love pork again after about a 15-year hiatus. Les côtes de porc poêlées are simply wonderful.

That is a cute robot! Am I mistaken if I say that he was the only one to stay when you said "Let's start cleaning"? :D I like these little robots very much!
