I just finished reading Gluten-Free Girl which I had borrowed from the library (very good to do if you actually need a deadline to finish a book like I do!). It turned out to be better than I expected. It was Shauna's experiences throughout her life with food, and her journey of growing into the woman she is today. This is a woman who has a definite love and appreciation of taste! It made me want to take cooking classes and find every gourmet food store I can. The best part? It ends with her meeting The Chef and it is one of the most touching love stories I've ever read. Probably because it's true and it's almost unbelievable. So I had to buy Gluten-Free Girl and the Chef because it is a cookbook/love story that they wrote together. The theme throughout her book and her blog is that she feels lucky to have had the diagnosis of Celiac's because it gave her freedom from sickness and caused her to find a whole new world of things that she had missed before. In this sense everyone should read the book because I think most of us miss saying "yes" to so much in life. Don't wait until you are forced to try something new, something unfamiliar. Try it the next time the opportunity presents itself. Breathe it in and embrace it!

this looks really interesting, I am terrible at finishing books even with a library deadline.
By the way I don't know if I told you but I read a book you recommended and loved it and cried at it because it was so amazing:
Wesley the Owl
thank you

Thanks for the recommendation. I'll have to see if our library has it. How is the gf going? Are you feeling better?
This looks an interesting read. I will also have to check my library for it.
Sounds like a good positive read!
So - yes the postcards did arrive - thank you so much - it looks such an amazing place and it seems a shame that they are moving it all - how will they move the amazing murals?
Oh and in another complete coincidence - after you asked about Cisco video conferencing - which i had never heard of - but I was at a conference today and someone was singing the praises of Cisco video conferencing......spooky.....oh and someone was speaking at the conference from the University of Manchester and it turns out that I met her before in Germany about 8 years ago when I was working on a project with her husband....small world.
Yes, these books seem to be interesting. I hope that you are feeling better. Yes you are right, we shouldn't wait until we are forced to try something unfamiliar. It's a good idea to test it asap :) I wish you a lovely weekend! xoxo
Oh I'm glad you found GFG's blog! I'll look for the books at my library. Are you feeling better?
