My assignment this week is to do two maps and I intend to do that... but while I was thinking about it, I remembered this map from the Eloise books, drawn by
Hilary Knight who I think is a master genius at children's illustration. I could get lost in looking at these type of map drawings, imagining being there myself. I posted it in class so I thought I would post it here too. I also loved
Richard Scarry's towns and you probably remember those. Hopefully I will have something good to show you by Sunday!

Beautiful! I love maps - you can imagine as a geographer that i love maps! Atlas of all sorts - how about the new Lena Corwin book Maps - they are fantastic. Or the beautifully illustrated books by Sasek like This is Venice or This is London- I had to buy the Venice one as a reminder of my little trip!
You made me think of the countless hours we spent looking for Goldbug on each Richard Scary page. Don't forget to hide your own creative creation!!
Where have I been hiding? Under a rock? I've never heard of Hillary Knight! Next time I am at the library I'll look for her books!
We like Eloise's stories very much :) and Richard Scarry's illustrations also :) And i love maps as well, this one and yours, talented Bethany! I would love to find a Farmer's Markets map as beautiful as yours concerning my area! xo
