i love charlie brown

Imagine how excited I was when I saw this photo (above) from the Charlie Brown Cafe! I did a quick search and found out that I have to go to Hong Kong or Singapore, just to enjoy some Peanuts Gang treats! DRAT!

I'd rather go back and visit Charlie at the Charles M. Shultz Museum in Santa Rosa, California. It's a gorgeous town and the museum is full of interesting facts... a little more for adults than children but I'm sure all enjoy it. I added my own sketches to a visitor sketchbook sitting out for contributions!

I'm also sure Charlie Brown misses me...

Awww, so cute! I seem to have a closer connection with Snoopy--must be my love of sleeping outside.

You could come to Saint Paul to see me and I'd take you out and show you all kinds of statues from the Peanuts. For five years in a row they did art contests here with some of the characters where people gave them whatever kind of paint jobs they felt were appropriate. Some of them were really quite amazing!! They did Snoopy, Charlie Brown, Lucy, Linus, and then Snoopy on his dog house the last year. They showcased them at the state fair ech year and then they went to stand guard in front of businesses and all kinds of places. There are probably 10 within a mile of our house. I ahve a t-shirt from the final year with all the characters on it. Charles Schultz spent a lot of time in St Paul growing up and there is an apartment above a bar somewhere downtown that his family lived in where he drew one of his first Snoopy dogs on the wall of his bedroom. It's still there and always will be as long as the owners keep the place. Mall of America's indoor roller coaster theme park used to be Camp Snoopy and you would have loved the decorating, etc. there. The park got bought out by Nickledean and it's now Sponge Bob Square Pants themed. It's just not as fun for those of us too old to appreciate SBSP humor.

That deleted comment was me - Diane but from my friend Isabel's computer. I love Charlie Brown - I am coming with you next time. I'm in France at the moment typing on a very strange keyboard where letters such as a and m are in the wrong places - very confusing. Tomorrow I head to Lille near the Belgian border to eat chocolate, meet my friends from London and to visit World War 1 battlefields.

Oh I adored Snoopy for so long during my childhood years. My mother actually wrote to Charles M Schulz telling him of my love of Snoopy and that I was having a hard time with my parents divorcing. Imagine her surprise when package came in the mail for me from him. He had signed a print of Snoopy at this doghouse. Still have it framed and hanging on the wall. What a incredibly kind thing he did.
