lily pads

Lily Pads
I'm taking another illustration class "Making Your Mark", this time through the Pikaland Bootcamps. I'm experimenting with a combination of painted images in acrylics scanned into my computer and collaged in Photoshop. I only have a temporary PS program because my old PS was a Microsoft version, not Mac. I did a little drawing with the Wacom tablet too. It might not appear so, but this took me about 6 hours to do! Part of that was just figuring out how to work with the layers and create what I was aiming for. It's a start. I think I only have 12 more days to use the PS program (boo). This illustration was inspired by a photo I took on a trip to Longwood Gardens a couple years ago and their beautiful lily pad ponds!

Well, I showed this to my family and they didn't like it... they said it wasn't my style. I liked it because I knew what I was going for and could picture it in an editorial piece. Oh well.

I love this Beth! It's good to be outside your "zone" for a while because you might just find yourself a new zone!

Great experimentation! It makes me think of water lilies by Claude Monet!
