Weinstollen

Mmmmm... I just baked my first weinstollen from my sweet friend's recipe last evening! She lived in Germany for a few years and learned it... and passed it along to me! (It is also called Gateau au Vin Rouge) It reminds me of all the cakes my Oma baked (I mentioned the Stollen in an earlier post). This one is chocolate, with a surprise ingredient: red wine! It's like a mixture of spice cake, chocolate (it has cocoa and chocolate chips in it) and butter cake. I love it!! Thank you O!!!!!! My family thanks you too!!!! ;)

Wonderful!!!!!! and you have made a crown, it's beautiful!!!
I need a mold like that! I have a Kougelhopf's clay mold, but I've never used it yet.
Thanks to you!!!

Mmm... I've never baked a stollen, just bought one the other day from Bahlsen from the store for my family. Anyway, just wanted to say "hi." I've been missing in action this entire year... it's been a transformative year and feel bad I haven't been commenting and saying "hi." Do know that I still check up on you guys to see how you're doing. Happy Holidays to you and your entire family! I'll have to catch you up sometime on my year.
