My drawing for Illustration Friday this week... in pencil (because I totally messed up the first one with watercolor!!!).Raising chickens the old-fashioned way is the best way! Free-roaming chickens that can feed on bugs, plants and feed in a chicken yard are the healthiest, have the healthiest eggs and make the best meat (sorry if you're a vegetarian!). I won't even eat chicken from chicken factory farms (see more here). I was going to draw that too, in contrast, but it turned my stomach! Actually most old-fashioned farming methods are healthier than modern ones.

Great drawing...I always get to a point in my art that I don't want to colour it or ink it in sometimes for fear of wrecking it. I had backyard chickens when I was a kid.
