The alarm went off at 6 am this morning and everyone got up for the first day of school! It was a long and busy summer break but not long enough for the kids... they really didn't want to go back today! I think that means summer was a lot of fun this year. Both Caroline and Nathaniel are at the Middle School together now, so they can walk to school. I put Ellie on the leash and we walked most of the way with them, until they headed off to the building and we headed off on our usual morning walk. Ellie wanted to go too! She is so funny... I got out the camera to take the usual first day photo and she sat down and posed for a picture too!! (Jane will get a kick out of that!) This year should be fun and busy-- Nathaniel is on Travel Team Soccer, Caroline is joining the Jr. Tennis Team, Craig is coaching the Soccer team, and both kids are taking French so we can all practice Français parlant at home! Caroline and I also want to start running. I've been walking a lot but that gets really easy so it's time to try to do more.
I'm hoping the first day goes well... I'm planning on surprising them with home-baked cookies when they get home! :)
Hope you have a great week too!

Hello! Tell the kids I hope that they had a great first day at school and that Nathaniel enjoyed middle school! I am sure Caroline will continue to enjoy the tennis!
My parents are heading to New Hampshire in a month to visit my aunt - she's just moved into a condo in Hanover - so at least she's in town now!
Is Nathaniel really taller than Caroline now??! Blessings to them on their school year. They'll do great!
I start teaching in two weeks...it's all about prep work now!
They are growing up so fast! Nathaniel has really shot up in height! Sabastian is still waiting for his growth spurt :). Enjoy the new school year!
My goodness have they grown. I can hardly believe that school has started already... is it me or did the summer seem to whiz by this year?
