wire sculptures

I just wanted to show this to you larger... this is Nathaniel's wire sculpture from my Summer Art Camp. The kids drew contour line drawings with pen of either a shell from my collection or a photo from a book of ocean life photos. Then I gave them coated copper wire that I found in the jewelry making section of our local craft store. I had jewelry pliers and they mimicked the lines of their drawings. We only spent two hours on it, so they would have been even more spectacular with more time! It made the line drawings feel 3-dimensional and they are beautiful hung. (I have photos yet to download!!) This is a fun thing to do this summer at home if you are looking for something creative to do!

Have a GREAT weekend!
