the long road

Sometimes you play for hours and hours and hours with type and new programs and old programs and then weeks later, after all of this, you sit down at your computer and throw up on the screen something that is completely different than what you have been working with... and ... wa-la!! It's exactly what I wanted!!!  I was going with all lower case letters but then this type style looked hand written (that's what I was trying to do myself with the Wacom tablet) and the "C" looks almost egg like and also matches the owl's eyes! And the "studio & gallery" actually looks a bit like my own handwriting. I thought since everything is about handmade, that the font should look handmade too! So.... here it is!:

I also wanted to say that I totally and fully appreciate every kind comment and offer to make something for my stepfather! I have so much going on, I can't even find time to coordinate doing something that sweet. The good news is that he is having surgery this Monday (March 2) so that is two weeks early. It will take all day. Your prayers are so much appreciated right now!!!  I am still planning to go out in 2 weeks to visit. I couldn't go this week because our Odyssey of the Mind competition is this coming Saturday and we perform at the school on Thursday. Yes... that's why you haven't heard from me! Dad thought my computer might be down! It's getting sort of lonely around here, so feel free to send me a note! I get them, I just don't always respond right away! I'm SO close to sending out letters to my favorite artists and crafters about selling your work! I have to write up a letter for the newsletter of the neighborhood where my studio will be and it's due yesterday!!!! Now off to eat something... you'd think I'd be a stick because I forget to eat all the time. Well, that's not true at all. I quit my coffee diet for Lent and am drinking tea instead... decaf. Yeah, I know...great timing!!!
Talk to you soon!
xo Bethany

I was wondering what had happened to you. I figured, "Well, there's the new business venture busyness and then her step father is ill." So I was right. Missed you.

The logo is exactly right! I have no idea how you DO that!

I love the font too!!! It does go rather perfectly with the eyes. Also, i love your handwriiting. you have such pretty penmanship, so that font does look very similar but i think your penmanship is so much better. but i think that looks close and perfect for the studio! hope this makes sense...
