yarn & crochet genius

buttons by Magdalen C. Mowery

After spending my lunch with Rachel-Marie, I found myself in a yarn mood again! I couldn't leave LYS without a little something... namely, her yarns! And Maggie's ceramic buttons! I got to meet her too when she stopped in on a lunch break from the gallery she works in. Gallery Row in Lancaster is a fun place to spend an afternoon! In fact, I will be going back soon to buy some more of my favorite rugs from CityFolk:

I also was reading Laura Normandin's blog and realized I probably didn't show you the hairclips I bought from her about a month ago!
She also makes the most awesome crocheted bracelets which are too small for me but this one was perfect for Caroline!
I found a great article on her at hodge podge farm and they show lots of photos of her crocheted works of art! Now I'm in the mood to light the fireplace, put on some flannel pj's and crochet a little! Craig rented "Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium" for the evening too! They all saw it but I never did! I love the word "wonder"... I had thought about that this morning. My shop will be about the wonder and imagination that occurs when you create something... I want to work that into the name somehow. It's not just about "art" but about the wonderful process of daydreaming up ideas that you turn into reality... and fun... I have to love what I do, or I just don't do it!  And love IS a big part of that too. Tomorrow I'll share more about the whole business plan so far! It's exciting and interesting and sometimes a bit hard to swallow all of it at once! But I wouldn't trade it for anything!!
Blessings and wonder always,
Bethany

I wish people could see the yarn in person - the pictures just don't capture the magic in the yarn.

awwwh, tell your hubby I said thank you! He's so sweet.

I had SUCH a good time with you today. I'm steeling your button piccie, and am writing the blog right now. I have a good feeling that we'll be seeing a lot of each other in the future! Thanks for being such a good friend and supporter of the arts in general! I can't wait to see you in action. Looking forward to our fingerless mitts class. XOXO

It looks like you had a great day! I can't wait to see what you make out of the yarn. I am guessing your studio will be close to these other shops. What a great location. We'll enjoy watching your progress!

How about "Creative Wonders" "Wonders of Art"?

Seeing the beautiful yarns makes me want to take up knitting or some other needlework besides the cross stitch and needlepoint I do. Problem is I just don't know where that would fit in with the stamping and shooting and all the other hobbies, too.......
