cats and birds, and free stuff

"Henri" by Will Braden

"My thumbs are not opposable, yet I oppose everything." ~ Henri

I found this funny video on the blog a print a day which Patty told me about!  She found some printables with kokeshi dolls on them here.  This site is pretty cool if you want to print out free stuff all the time! I love the folkloric birds she has up right now!

I'm starting to think about what we can do to prepare for a depression in our economy. It's time to take homesteading seriously again. While I'm still buying raw milk and meat & vegetables at market, recycling, and trying to cut back... I'm still spending too much and not saving enough. As much as I still have hope that the country won't elect Obama and his economic plan, if it does happen, we have to brace ourselves for higher taxes and a minimal lifestyle. I wonder what other country we could move to that isn't socialist. I'm totally serious about that. Craig's company is international... we could actually go somewhere else for awhile.

That would be an adventure! I've said the same thing myself...maybe we can move to the same place and be neighbors!

The video is funny. Thanks for the chuckle. I'd jump at the chance to live abroad. We won't do it any time soon, though, as Pumpkin starts high school next year. I can't imagine pulling him out now.

we thought about international too. the only other place i have lived is london, to study for a bit, but even there it is much more liberal. that is nice that craig has some job flexibility with that. i think that would be a great idea for the kids, to give them a different perspective. america is so wasteful and has such an "i want it now" mentality, even i succumbed to this temptation, but there are other ways to live. Our economy is very scary, who knows what will happen, but it is nice to rest assured that no matter what our God is in control!

I loved Henri....very poignant! You could always come and live in Australia! We could have a cup of tea...although I think that the red neck politics we have to endure here would peeve you just as much! Jen
