Caroline's Summer Orchestra wrapped up tonight with their concert! It was so wonderful to hear all of these kids playing together. The music was fabulous and it was such a great experience to be able to play every day together for two weeks straight! She learned 6 pieces for her part of it. I am so proud of all these kids-- they will be the ones to appreciate the music programs in the schools when they are adults and to hopefully support local arts programs. I even hope some of them continue with making their own music into adulthood. Time to get out the classical cd's again and listen to some good music!I also wanted to let you know that Karen loved the cover! The back copy was shortened a bit from that last photo I posted, but it is en route to the publishing company right now! It was a great experience for me because it had been awhile since I'd worked on a book cover design and I plunged right back into playing with fonts and learning the latest Adobe Illustrator program. Though I felt like I needed a nap today, it was also really energizing to be in such a creative mode all week long! Balancing parenting and short creative deadlines is such a juggling act-- I appreciate those of you who do it regularly! Back to regular life now ;)

makes me reminiscent of my school days. i have played the violin since i was seven, and have graced many a concert. what a fun time of life. i'm glad she has access to playing in an orchestra.

Had a good weekend here - no rain (apart from at night) so we were very lucky!
It is great that Caroline plays in the orchestra. That sounds like a nice week program. It is a pleasure to pull the classical music out.
