Here is one of Nathaniel's sketches:
Here is one of Caroline's sketches:
I took photos of some of the original art that was on display:A little interesting side note: Bono, from U2 was in town here on Tuesday! No one knows but my husband has connections with a sound system company that does the audio systems for all the famous rock bands around the world! Too bad we didn't know he was here until Wed. I wonder if he stopped for some Wilbur's chocolate?!! ;) shhhhh.... don't tell anyone... it's a secret!

Where the Wild Things are! Love them so much. There is a show on ABC in Australia called Collectors (which, oddly enough is about collections people make!) and there was a chap who had Where the Wild Things are figurines! The sketches are wonderful. Your sketch of the children was so lovely. You have such a beautiful talent - Jen
I'm so glad this class went well and everyone had fun! Your kids have definitely inherited some of your talent! Tell them I'm impressed!
How wonderful that your kids can draw too! My boys never developed that skill, although they both have a knack. I hope yours stay with it!
OHHHH! What a groovy post! I love Maurice Sendak--he's one of my favorite people and was such an inspiration to me when I was first getting interested in writing/illustrating my own books. I'm so envious of you guys, being that close to his original artwork.
Nathaniel and Caroline are so amazingly talented--and they're such sweet kids too. You did a good job Mom (and Dad, too). I'm just so impressed by the talent in your family!

looks like an amazing time! i love maurice sendak's work, and your children's sketches are incredible!
I would love to see a maurice sendak exhibition, he is one of my all time favourites, he has so many different styles, yet you know it is him everytime, if that makes sense?
