First of all, Happy Mother's Day to all of you who are a mommy! I had a relaxing, enjoyable day yesterday. The kids and Craig got me this which I love! And Craig made me crab legs for dinner. He spoils me :)
It was raining on and off all day until about a half hour before the party, then the sun broke through and we had wonderful weather! We grilled out and made a campfire to toast marshmellows over. Everyone brought food... lots and lots of it! We celebrated a successful year of Odyssey of the Mind and at the end of the night I handed out the little scrapbooks that I made for each person on our team. They really liked that. We made some really good friends from it and look forward to many more gatherings! Here's a beautiful plant the Roys got for me, for coaching the team:
Well, today I did something totally different for me... I made my cards for Karla and Beth's Birds and Bonnets swap! I don't normally do paper collage, but it made me think about placement and pattern, so it was a good exercise to do. Somerset magazine may do an article on the swap and The Vintage Workshop provided the papers and images to print and use. I'm off in a minute to the post office so they will get there in time! (I always do things last minute.)

I am so glad that your weather was perfect for the cook out. It sounds an ideal way to spend the evening and Odyssey of the Mind sounds like such a great thing for kids to do! I wish they did it in schools here.
I like your paper collage - it's not something that I have done since I was at school! I used to collect scraps!
I loved your paper collage. Glad to hear that the weather saw the value in a good party too! No one wants to be a party pooper! Glad to hear that you had a great mothers day! - Jen
The cards are lovely!!! SO glad you had a nice Mother's Day--sounds like your whole weekend was a blast! :)
What beautiful cards, and I'm envious that you had lovely weather for Mother's Day.
We are still patiently waiting for our weather to warm up, a cookout in the garden sounds lovely.
Your weekend sounds great. I'm glad the party went well - what a lovely way to round of your work together.
Your Mother's Day sounds lovely and I'm glad you got so well taken care of :)
