This isn't what I sat down to draw today. I was thinking about something completely different. But then I got an email from my friend Terri and then read some horrible news on her blog. And it just made me want to hold my children closer and hope that they will never experience the loss that some children have to experience too early in their lives. We just don't know what tomorrow holds. But I can let them know every day how much they mean to me.

That was a tragic situation. It does give us pause, a reminder that every day is a blessing. Thanks for sharing, I'm going to go hug my kids now.

I've been thinking about this since I read it on your blog (and then read Terri's post)--it certainly is tragic. I told Chen about it, and we both reflected on how fortunate we are, and reminded ourselves to be grateful for every moment we have together. I don't know Terri or her family, but I really feel this one. I am so sorry for their loss.
Thanks for sharing in our family's grief, yet also seeing the hope that we have. It is a sober reminder to live each day to the fullest and keep short accounts with those you love. One thing my cousin told me was that he and his wife had a great marriage, and he has no regrets or guilty feelings over anything from their relationship together, just precious memories. That is such a blessing to him now, and a good reminder for us all!
What a sweet and tender drawing.
Our prayers will be with your friend's family. It is tragic, but very moving that they are seeing the blessing in it all. Thanks for the reminder to cherish our loved ones ALL the time. I am going to try to steal more hugs from Peanut as he is not affectionate at all! Your drawing captures it all.
This is a precious drawing. I agree, childhood touched by tragedy is so hard to see.
Your drawing is so beautiful Bethany and holds so much meaning. I am sure your friend will take great comfort in knowing you are thinking of and praying for her family as they cope with their tragic loss.
xx
Our life is but a vapor and we need to hold fast to Christ daily and cherish all that He gives... I will pray for them too! We can try to control our lives, but God is actually the driver. He decides when to call us home to glory!
this is a very sweet drawing and i think it really shows how much love you have for your children. really beautiful bethany!
I just read Terri's post and will be praying hardcore for her dear family. Thanks for the important reminder, Bethany...
I'm very taken with this drawing. If I sent you a picture of my three children, could I commission you to create one of my kids? I love it. Also, I'm so sorry about your friend's news.
