I didn't have time to put in the background color, but I actually didn't mind that in this one. It is sort of a modern "bread and wine" painting. We only have 2 more classes left! Time flies when you're having fun.

It looks fine without a background. The wine and bread pop out at you. I love the affect of seeing the tablecloth through the bottle. Do you share your work with the other classmates? I bet that is interesting to see the variety of talent. I keep thinking I need some sort of canvas in my family room. Perhaps, I'll let you know if and when we get that far:)

The wine bottle is great - you've really captured the character of the glass and I can almost smell the bread!!

Ooo...that bread looks yummy! Just curious...how long did it take you to paint this? Did you do it in just one class? It's so amazing--I've never been able to figure out how to paint glass and am so impressed by artists like you who have mastered it.

FAR from "mastering" it!!! It took 2 1/2 hours again. That's why I didn't get to the background. And it was a larger canvas. Glass isn't as difficult as it looks. If you look for the dark and light patches of color, paint what is coming through from behind, and put in reflections, then it appears more like glass. I never thought I could do it either.

You did an amazing job on the loaf of bread.

I like this picture a lot! I like the fact that you haven't got any background. The bread looks particularly good!

I'm glad that you are enjoying the classes!

Great bread-like texture on the inside of the loaf!
