Major Surgery Today...

I went into see the doctor about my little mole above my lip today. I've had it for as long as I can remember. Whenever I drew myself as a little girl, it was there. Some things just become part of who you are! My girlfriend Colleen used to take a pen and draw one just like mine above her lip because she said it was my beauty mark!!! Well, several weeks ago things looked not quite right, so I was able to get into a specialist (kids in tow) and before I knew it, they took it off and me being a big baby, cried just a little. Now my lip hurts and is half numb and more than the pain, I think I'm in shock because after the scab comes off I won't recognize myself anymore!!! So, not to make light of the surgery thing (if you know me, you know I've had my fair share of real surgeries... I almost died in sixth grade!!!) but I didn't know I'd go under the knife this morning!! And I still got my kids to school on time...
Me in Second Grade and my mole.

Ouchie. I wish you a speedy and full recovery and hope that you don't miss your mole too much. :) I had a very similar plaid dress! I have to look for that photo.

Oh my word you poor thing! Will you have to resort to drawing one on too?
Sorry, that was in pretty poor taste ;)

Hop you're feeling better! I had a small one removed from my face last year, too--same thing, I'd had it since I was a kid, but unlike you, I really hated the thing. I finally went to a plastic surgeon and had it removed. The scar is nearly invisible, and I'm so glad that mole is finally gone!

I'm so sorry that it took you by surprise. It does hurt a bit. I regulary have close encouters of the dermatologist kind, being blonde and fair skinned. It will heal quickly and you can always use eyebrow pencil to draw your beauty mark back on.
About the trip to the Bay Area. There are three missions in easy driving distance of San Jose, one in San Jose itself, then in Santa Clara, San Franciso. and then Carmel, San Rafael, Santa Cruz and San Juan Bautistsa. Solano is a bit further up the coast.

Oh honey I'm so glad that you had it looked at before something terrible happened. You can still use a pencil to color one on...

Mole or no mole, you're still beautiful to me!

Love,
Julie

So glad you had it taken care of- but I bet you weren't quite ready for such a sudden change in your appearance- when we go to the hairdresser, we KNOW we're going to leave looking a little different- but we don't expect it from a doctor visit.

Take good care, Beth
