Halloween Fun!...

Our class party was a huge success!! The kids had a blast making their craft, eating caramel apples and playing lots of games! One little girl came up to me at the end and said it was the best Halloween she'd ever had! (I don't know why that is, but it made me feel good!)
Here's my son and a classmate working on their felt patches:

After school, it was costume time! Nathaniel went as a Gladiator and Caroline went as Elizabeth from "Pirates of the Carribean"!

Ellie tried to get in on the festivities too!

Trick-or-treating was so much fun... we joined friends and went around the neighborhood, seeing lots of neighbors and people we know from school. One neighbor has a party every year in their front lawn: hot chocolate, roasted weiners, snacks and adult beverages! It's the place to meet every year! Loads of fun and we went away a little jollier than we came! Joan and I even got a refill of our "adult beverage" at a few houses down the street! Did I mention we were jolly??!

Hope you had a good night tonight. It's always fun to see all the kids in their creative costumes and the neighbors all out enjoying each other's company so much. It brings back memories of my childhood and faith in the friendships of good neighbors!

Sounds like a great night! I like the kids outfits! I was helping at a halloween party at a local afterschool care club - it was fun to see all the kids dressed up!

We had over 215 kids and I ran out of candy an hour into it. And the sad part is, most of the kids had both parents T-o-T with them. Who was at their houses passing out candy?? From the looks of our neighborhood, no one!

Glad your neighborhood isn't like ours.

Love,
Julie

It sounds like you guys had a great time. We miss the party atmosphere we had in PA. All the neighbors hung outside and it was as much fun for the adults. There they celebrated in the Friday night before and one of us always had a party afterwards. David walked with the kids and socialized. I hung back giving out candy. We bought just the right amount. Yeh! Buddy barked when the kids came to the door. He has a scary bark, but he is just a softy.

Awww...Ellie likes that pumpkin! I have a funny halloween story to share. One of the first little kids to come to our door asked, "Where are all your decorations?" (Now, with a teething 8 month old, I only had time to carve two pumpkins--and I was proud of myself for doing that much!) I said, "We have two pumpkins..." To which he replied, "That's it?" After I gave him his candy and closed the door, I heard my husband in the other room mutter to himself, "Little punk."
