Drawing children

One of my favorite subjects to draw is of children and recently I found an illustrator who lives in England that just captures them so well and seemingly so easily! I'll try not to get discouraged after seeing how good she is! Her blog is belle and boo and her name is Mandy. She sells her prints and other things with her drawings on Etsy, but I haven't been able to find her anywhere else...

Beautiful pictures. They remind me of the Janet and John books I read a million years ago at school. They remind of Enid Blyton characters :o)

When I saw just the top of the little girl's head at first, I thought, "A Beatrix Potter picture!"
This artist catches a small child's innocence so well.

Oh! I, too, love belle and boo! I (in my desire to have children pronto:) ordered the little boy in green holding a bird in his hand, imagining that it would be the perfect addition to a child's room.

By the way, thanks so much for your sweet words regarding my last post about my "early weaning" doubts. It's great to feel so supported by other moms as I begin to think seriously about becoming a mom myself.

I thought Beatrix Potter too. LOL - and then Dick and Jane. Ah, memories. Thanks for the trip!
